BookingKoala is the better choice for most residential cleaning businesses with one to fifteen people, and Jobber is the better choice once you have office staff, quote larger one-off jobs, or run other trades alongside cleaning. BookingKoala is storefront software priced flat at $27 to $197 a month regardless of team size, built around customers booking online. Jobber is a general field-service platform priced by plan and user count, from $49 a month for one user, with the plan that includes automated reminders starting at $139 a month. Prices verified September 9, 2026.
This comparison is for solo cleaners and crews of 2 to 5 in the US and Canada, with a section on larger companies. It is based on both vendors’ public pricing and feature pages, not hands-on testing; see how we compare software. Pricing: who wins at each crew size?
BookingKoala wins on price at every size from solo through about fifteen people, and the gap widens as you hire.
| Team | BookingKoala | Jobber (month to month) | Jobber (prepaid annual) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo, email reminders | Starter $27 | Core $49 (no automated reminders) | Core $29 (no automated reminders) |
| Solo, SMS reminders | Growing $57 | Connect $139 | Connect $99 |
| Owner plus 2 cleaners | Starter $27 or Growing $57 | Connect 5 users $199 | Connect 5 users $149 |
| Owner plus 4 cleaners | Growing $57 | Connect 5 users $199 | Connect 5 users $149 |
| Owner plus 7 cleaners | Growing $57 | Connect 10 users $299 | Connect 10 users $229 |
| Owner plus 14 cleaners | Growing $57 | Connect 15 users $399 | Connect 15 users $299 |
Two things drive the difference. BookingKoala counts providers (people who perform the service) against a plan limit of 5, 15, or 50 and charges nothing per person within it. Jobber counts every user who opens the app, sells plans in bundles of 1, 5, 10, or 15 users, and charges $29 a month for each user beyond the bundle. And BookingKoala’s cheapest plan already includes automated email reminders, while Jobber’s Core plan does not include automated client notifications at all.
Jobber’s real price is lower than the month-to-month column if you commit. Its three billing terms (no commitment, a 1-year commitment billed monthly, and prepaid annual) drop Connect for 5 users from $199 to $169 to $149. Even at $149, Jobber costs more than two and a half times BookingKoala Growing for the same crew. What you are paying for is a broader platform, covered below.
Both tools add payment processing on top. Jobber Payments charges 2.9% plus 30 cents per card payment and 1% for bank payments. BookingKoala routes payments through Stripe and other processors, and Stripe charges 2.9% plus 30 cents for online cards. On a $150 visit, that is about $4.65 either way. The invoicing guide compares processors in detail.
Online booking and the customer experience
BookingKoala is built around the customer booking themselves, and this is where it is clearly stronger. Every plan includes a drag-and-drop website builder with a custom domain, customizable booking forms where the customer picks a service, home size, frequency, and add-ons and sees the price before booking, and a customer dashboard where clients reschedule, update cards, and manage their own appointments. Growing adds gift cards, a referral and rating system, and more than 100 notification types. Premium adds multi-step forms (zip code first), daily discounts that promote slow days, and campaigns.
Jobber includes online booking on every plan, and it works, but it is built around time slots and requests rather than instant pricing by home size. A customer can book an available time or submit a request form, and pricing usually arrives as a quote. Jobber’s client hub lets customers approve quotes, check appointment details, and pay invoices. For a cleaning company that mostly sells standard cleans at published flat rates, BookingKoala’s form converts a visitor to a booked, paid appointment with fewer steps. See how to let customers book a cleaning online and the pricing method guide for why that matters.
Scheduling, running the crew, and getting paid
Jobber is stronger at operations, and the gap grows with team size and job complexity.
- Scheduling and dispatch. Both handle recurring schedules and cleaner assignment. Jobber adds routing on Connect and drive-time scheduling suggestions on Grow. BookingKoala adds smart scheduling and lets providers grab unassigned jobs.
- Field tools. BookingKoala Growing includes GPS and clock in and out, checklists per job, and an internal chat between the office and providers. Jobber Connect includes GPS, time tracking, and checklists; Grow adds automatic geofenced timers and job costing.
- Quoting and invoicing. This is Jobber’s home ground: professional quotes with optional add-ons and markups, automated quote and invoice follow-ups, automatic payments for recurring work, progress invoicing, expense tracking, and job costing. BookingKoala has invoicing, coupons, and card on file, and for a business selling flat-rate cleans through a booking form, that is usually enough. For move-out cleans, commercial bids, and any job that needs a written quote, Jobber is better.
- Accounting and integrations. Jobber syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero from Connect and has a marketplace of more than 100 apps plus Zapier on Connect and above. BookingKoala’s pricing page does not list an accounting sync, so plan on exporting data to your bookkeeper.
- Reporting. BookingKoala Growing has reports on revenue, bookings, ratings, and cancellation reasons. Jobber has financial, client, work, and expense reporting on all plans, with more on Connect.
Reminders and customer communication
Both send automated reminders, but at different price points. BookingKoala Starter includes email notifications and Growing at $57 includes SMS notifications and app notifications, with more than 100 templates. Jobber’s automated client notifications, including reminders and “on my way” texts, start on Connect at $139 a month for one user. Two-way text messaging with customers from a shared inbox is a Jobber Grow feature ($199 a month for one user) and is not listed by BookingKoala.
For a residential cleaning business, reminders are the feature that cuts lockouts and last-minute cancellations, so the plan that includes them is the real entry price: $27 to $57 on BookingKoala, $139 to $199 on Jobber.
Spanish-speaking teams
Jobber’s mobile app is available in Spanish for team members, though not for administrators or account owners, on every plan. BookingKoala offers multilingual accounts on Premium at $197 a month. If your cleaners need the app in Spanish and you are on a small budget, that is a point for Jobber, and it is worth weighing against the price gap.
Which should you choose?
Choose BookingKoala if:
- You are solo or a crew of up to 15 and want the lowest total cost with reminders included.
- Most of your business is recurring residential cleaning at published flat rates.
- You want customers to book, pay, and manage appointments themselves from a website you control.
- You want gift cards, referrals, and ratings built in.
Choose Jobber if:
- You quote a lot of one-off or larger jobs (move-outs, post-construction, commercial) and need proper quoting, follow-ups, and job costing.
- You also do carpet, windows, pressure washing, or another trade and want one platform for all of it.
- You need QuickBooks Online or Xero sync now.
- Your cleaners need the app in Spanish and Premium on BookingKoala is out of reach.
- You have office staff and are heading past 15 people, where Jobber’s operational depth pays off.
For a crew of 2 to 5 that fits the first list, the choice is BookingKoala Growing at $57 a month. For a company that fits two or more items on the second list, Jobber Connect is the plan to trial, and the best scheduling software guide puts both alongside ZenMaid, Maidily, Zenbooker, and Housecall Pro.

Frequently asked questions
Is BookingKoala or Jobber cheaper for a cleaning crew?
BookingKoala, by a wide margin at every size up to 15 people. As of September 9, 2026, BookingKoala Growing is $57 a month flat for up to 15 providers, with SMS reminders and GPS included. Jobber Connect, the first Jobber plan with automated reminders, is $199 a month for 5 users month to month, or $149 a month prepaid annually, plus $29 a month for each extra user.
Does Jobber do anything BookingKoala does not?
Yes. Jobber has stronger quoting and invoicing for one-off and larger jobs, job costing, expense tracking, routing, QuickBooks Online and Xero sync from Connect, a mobile app in Spanish for team members, and a much larger integration marketplace. It is a general field-service platform, so it also covers other trades if you add them.
Does BookingKoala do anything Jobber does not?
Yes. BookingKoala includes a website builder with a custom domain, customizable booking forms with instant pricing by home size, a customer dashboard where clients manage their own appointments, gift cards, a referral and rating system, and, on Premium, marketing campaigns and multilingual accounts, all at a flat price with no per-user fee.
Which is better for a solo cleaner?
BookingKoala Starter at $27 a month, if a solo cleaner wants software at all. It includes a booking website and email reminders for one flat price. Jobber Core at $49 a month for one user lacks automated reminders, and the plan that has them starts at $139 a month for one user as of September 9, 2026.
Can I use both BookingKoala and Jobber?
Running both is not practical, because each wants to be the system of record for customers, schedules, and payments. Pick one. Cleaning companies that outgrow BookingKoala typically move to Jobber or Housecall Pro when they add office staff or other services; plan a few weeks of parallel running for the switch.
